Start a gentle game

In version 1.3.0, choose Start a gentle game. The first board has four large tiles with pictures visible. Tap two matching pictures. There is no timer, score, or penalty. Choose Done for now whenever you want to leave.

Adjust the pictures

Open Comfort settings in the gentle game to change the tile count or whether pictures stay visible. Available choices depend on the number of pictures. Your gentle-play choices are saved on this device. You can return to a smaller board at any time.

Choose family photos

In version 1.3.0, open Your family photos, then Choose photos. Select only pictures you have permission to use and that the person is comfortable seeing. The app keeps smaller copies of up to 24 selected photos in one local collection. It does not scan the rest of your library or change your originals.

Use at least two different pictures for matching, or choose Look at photos together with just one picture. Optional conversation prompts have no correct answer. Simply looking together is enough.

Use the app offline

Version 1.3.0 includes all eight picture packs, so they need no separate image downloads. Saved photo copies work offline after import. If an original is stored only in iCloud or another cloud photo service, your device may need internet to retrieve it before import.

Remove a copy safely

Use the photo collection's remove controls and review the confirmation before continuing. Removal affects the app's copies, not the originals in your photo library. There is no family-photo sync service or in-app transfer to another device. Device backups may include app data, depending on your settings.

If something goes wrong

If selecting photos is cancelled, try again when ready. If an import fails, keep the originals and try a smaller selection. If a screen is stuck, close and reopen the app. Do not delete the app or clear its storage as a first troubleshooting step: doing so can remove saved copies and preferences.

If pictures or saved data appear missing, stop making changes and contact support. Include your device, OS, app version, and what happened. Please do not send private photos, passwords, or medical details.

Comfort comes first

Offer choices rather than asking someone to remember a name or finish a board. Change the picture or stop if it feels uncomfortable. Golden Moments offers recreation and conversation; it does not diagnose, measure, treat, or prevent dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
