The Chronicle · Seven Books
Follow the threads. Speak their names.
Lyra Chen is sixteen when the glowing lines she has always sketched turn out to be real — luminous threads of connection binding every living soul. Across seven books, she evolves from a girl hiding a strange gift into a guardian who must decide what that power is meant to serve.

Every volume is its own thread: radiant where the work is whole, quiet and frayed where the loom is still spinning. Honest, like the Weave itself.

The Thread Seers: Book One
Sixteen-year-old artist Lyra Chen charts the quiet currents between people in her notebook margins — until the graphite sparks into living light. Recruited to Threadweaver Academy, she discovers her rare sight has a name, and that the institution sworn to protect it is failing from within as an ashen contamination drains the life from its students. In a world woven from connection, Lyra must make an impossible choice: control, or communion.

The Weaver’s Shadow
Lyra can no longer see the threads — but she can feel their pulse through her skin. As she learns to navigate this deepened tactile communion, ancient fault lines fracture the Academy, and the living traditions she relies upon face desecration by those who see the Weave merely as an engine of power.

The Convergence Protocol
The Weave is bleeding into the public eye: impossible auroras dancing over metropolitan skies, and unexplainable surges of collective emotion rippling across continents. Lyra and the quartet are trapped between factions demanding immediate exposure and shadowy forces willing to commit atrocities to preserve the silence.

01
Dependent origination
The magic system is anchored in the Buddhist truth of Pratītyasamutpāda: nothing exists in isolation; everything arises through causes, conditions, and relationship. That metaphysical foundation dictates how characters perceive their gifts, why mechanical extraction is inherently violent, and what true communion demands of the spirit.
02
Living traditions
From 1943 Saigon under Japanese occupation to the secluded halls of a Berkshire boarding school, the narrative honors thread-working traditions from Korean, Indian, Chinese, Egyptian, African, and Indigenous lineages — each bearing centuries of distinct technique, philosophy, and moral cosmology.
03
Healing against control
Where the antagonist Marcus Harlow extracts thread energy through cold, industrial machinery, Lin Chen practiced communion — listening deeply to the Weave, asking before touching, and weaving in reciprocity. How does one wield immense power without consuming the very world that sustains it?
04
Inheritance
Mei-Hua in colonial Indochina. Nai Nai preserving silk traditions through diaspora. Lin vanishing into the quiet shadows of research. The knowledge carried by these women endured displacement, war, and systemic erasure. Lyra inherits their entire legacy — including the truths no one dared speak aloud.
